      Crop Residue emissions and how to reduce them

        Decomposition of crop residues can release carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide depending on the residue type and soil conditions.
      2. How can I reduce my crop residue emissions?
        • Retain residues on the soil surface as mulch.
        • Plant cover crops to sequester carbon and improve nitrogen use.
        • Use crop residues for biochar production.
