Step 1 - Register. There are some simple steps to register a soil carbon project in partnership with AgriProve.
- Create an Account - Head to agriprove.io and create a FREE AgriProve account to access fantastic tools like our; emissions calculator, nature and climate assessment and the "Soil carbon project eligibility" tool. Use the pricing tool to see if you are happy with the estimated baseline costs.
- AgriProve Project Proposal – A 25 minute meeting for our team to get all the information they need to learn about you, your farm and your intended land management strategy. Completing the project proposal will allow our team to provide you with a finalised quote, detailed mapping, project outline and soil carbon project plan. These documents will form part of your Sales and Licensing Agreement.
- Sign the ‘Sales and Licensing Agreement’ forms and return to AgriProve.
After receiving your Sales and Licensing Agreement and project details, AgriProve will complete the rest of the administration required and register your soil carbon project with the Clean Energy Regulator (CER).
With AgriProve, project registration takes 4 to 6 weeks with our streamlined registration process. A standard soil carbon project can take up to 12 weeks to be declared after it has been submitted to the CER. However, baseline soil testing and other activities can be undertaken in the meantime, before the project is declared.
Licensing
AgriProve licenses the rights to operate, monitor, measure and audit the project on the property for a 30-year period under our standard Licence and Sales Agreement. AgriProve is registered as the project proponent and carries responsibility for ensuring compliance and delivering all forms and reports required by the Clean Energy Register (CER). The licence does not give AgriProve rights to have any say in the day-to-day operations of your farm. All access to the farm for the purposes of monitoring, measuring and auditing the project must be with the permission of the farm manager.
The licence is transferred to any new owners in the event of sale or transfer of the property. New owners are given the option, but no obligation, to continue active participation in the soil carbon project. Should they elect not to actively participate, AgriProve carries all obligations for maintaining the ongoing administration of the project and retains the right to resample at our cost. However, the Licence and Sales Agreement contains the regulatory commitment to keep the land in agricultural land use, and not to use the land for alternative purposes, such as residential, commercial or industrial use. A copy of our Licence and Sales Agreement is available for your review.
