How AgriProve and Verterra evaluates and monitors your property?

DROVER Monitor is an environmental performance intelligence solution developed by Verterra Ecological Engineering. It provides property-specific and locally relevant data on ground cover, pasture performance, and erosion risk that isolates land management impact from seasonal changes to guide smarter decisions.

What DROVER Monitor measures

DROVER Monitor tracks ground cover across your property, benchmarking against the least disturbed landscapes in your local area to provide a clear view of what’s realistically possible across the landscape.. It identifies areas of erosion risk, pasture decline, and recovery based on real-time conditions and local comparisons – not State-wide or historical averages.

For water quality credit eligibility, DROVER Monitor establishes the baseline ground cover data required to demonstrate that your management changes are delivering measurable improvements. Without this baseline, credits cannot be calculated or issued.

How it integrates with HORIZON

AgriProve's HORIZON platform models soil carbon potential based on a wide range of variables including satellite data and a large amount of physical ground truthing data. When used alongside DROVER Monitor, the two platforms give a complete picture of your property's stacking potential - soil carbon on one side, ground cover and water quality on the other.

The combined assessment is what makes a stacked project possible. Both tools are made available to participating graziers as part of the MLA-funded pilot programme.

Key points

DROVER Monitor tracks ground cover, erosion risk, and pasture performance using satellite data.

DROVER establishes the baseline required for water quality credit calculation and issuance.

DROVER and HORIZON are used together to produce a combined property assessment.

Access to both tools is included for participants in the MLA-funded pilot programme.
