Step 2 - AgriProve conducts baseline soil sampling to measure the initial soil carbon stock levels before management activities to build soil carbon are implemented.
Changes in soil carbon levels are measured against baseline soil carbon levels in subsequent sampling rounds, to measure the effects of management activities and generate Australin Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs). Baseline soil sampling is conducted to 1-metre depth across randomly generated sample points, according to a compliant sampling plan under the methodology. The farmer is responsible for the baseline soil sampling costs and can either pay them up front or use a deferred payment option using ACCUs to cover these costs. After baseline sampling, each subsequent sampling round is paid for by AgriProve.
Additional analytes can be requested for analysis alongside the standard soil testing that is required for the soil organic carbon calculations. Any additional analytes will be passed on to the landholder
